What’s right about the situation? What’s working?
As a positive psychology career coach, I like to start most conversations by focusing on strengths, achievements, dreams, and and other sources that instill hope.
People come to see me when something isn’t right about work and they realize that it might not be smart to jump impulsively into the next career.
If you want to look back on your career, and this moment in time specifically, and think “I really made the right choice.”, there are a few smart steps.
First, inspect your values closely. What’s really important to you and what do you want and need.
Most of us don’t get a chance to really think about this. And once we do, we might find that our current job doesn’t really fit our values.
Here the fun begins. We start with exploration. Exploration leads to focus and goalsetting and a new, well planned career.
