Holly Smevog, Globally Certified Career Counselor
Holly Smevog has a professional mission of connecting people with their best career. She is a globally-certified career counselor, experienced and approved to apply counseling, coaching and consulting skills to each client engagement. From Silicon Valley to Southern Maine, Holly’s diverse background includes marketing and product development, consumer product design and sales, instructional technology and training, and human resource consulting. With experience in both the public and private sectors and in organizations large and small, Holly has an in-depth understanding of what makes companies succeed and how people work best together. She has helped hundreds of individuals find their vocational sweet spot.
In addition to being a principal at HMS, Holly serves on the board and is a member of the Past-Presidents’ Committee of the Maine Career Development Association, which provides professional development opportunities to its members, who provide career guidance to others. Holly is also a member of ACE, Association of Consulting Experts and the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Holly completed a Certificate of Personal and Executive Coaching and a course in Positive Intelligence mental fitness coaching.
When not at work, Holly enjoys parenting her three daughters, hitting the ice for a game of hockey, and looking for new windsurfing destinations with her husband. A notable feat is her summit of Denali in 1998.
Kay Whitmore, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, ACC, CPRW
With a background in senior HR leadership, Kay has more than three decades of experience helping individuals excel in their careers, develop authentic leadership skills, successfully navigate career transitions, and improve personal effectiveness. She is adept at using the latest, evidence-based assessment tools and applying the information to create successful career pathways within organizations as well as individual coaching experiences. Her areas of expertise include providing honest and constructive reflections to help clients reach deeper awareness of the ways their actions, systems, or culture, may be restricting their success.
Kay is a classically-trained singer, and she performs regularly with the Portland Symphony Orchestra. She also serves as an advisor to the orchestra, where she works with staff and musicians to foster positive and productive relationships while negotiating collective bargaining contracts.
Kay is also a pickleball enthusiast, a calligrapher, and a novice watercolor painter.
