Are you enjoying career success on your own terms?
What does that even mean?
Did you know Pope Francis was a bouncer and lab tech before he shifted gears?
You can probably think of others who have done a complete 180° career pivot and made it.
People are leaving their jobs, or wanting to, and are looking to define what career success means for them personally.
How do you do that?
⚡ Avoid impulsivity.
⚡ Carefully assess your skills, your personality, your work style, and what you need out of a career.
⚡ Think about looking back on this junction in your life- what will make you proud and how will you know you made a good choice?
⚡ Come up with a few options and start doing real research.
⚡ Understand what different jobs are like and get a sense of how they might fit for you.
⚡ Get out there and talk to people.
⚡ Weigh the pros and cons.
⚡ And then, try something. If you have done the work above, you can’t go wrong.
Your choice may be a stepping stone, not the final destination, but you will have taken action.
Don’t do it alone. Career coaches, like the ones on my team, know the marketplace, the world of recruiting and hiring, and are experienced helping people navigate career transition.
Make a change, but do it right.
